Joshua 3:5-6

The Israelites had a promise which the Lord went ahead of them to make flow with milk and honey. The promise became a possession after crossover. We know and believe that God had already gone ahead of us into 2021 and has ahead of us His blessings and peace to make us His people of influence.

"Then Joshua said to the people, “Consecrate yourselves, for tomorrow the LORD will do wonders among you.” And Joshua said to the priests, “Take up the ark of the covenant and pass on before the people.” So they took up the ark of the covenant and went before the people." Joshua 3:5-6 (ESV)

CONSECRATION

Before the cross over is consecration. This the period of sober reflections of our inner being before the throne of God - who we are before God. [take a moment to reflect on 2020 all your shortfalls as you circumcise the foreskin of your heart to be pure for God's usage (Deut. 10:16)]

"Circumcise therefore the foreskin of your heart, and be no longer stubborn." Deuteronomy 10:16 (ESV)

In thought, word and deed, "You have wearied the LORD with your words. But you say, “How have we wearied him?” By saying, “Everyone who does evil is good in the sight of the LORD, and he delights in them.” Or by asking, “Where is the God of justice?” Malachi 2:17 (ESV) [Do a sobber reflections]

Each one of us has stories to tell when it comes to 2020. It must have been a blend of ups and down, grace and grass, appointment and disappointment, love and hatred, happiness and worry, etc. But in all give glory to God for how far He has brought you, family, friends and Christendom.

CROSSING OVER

Crossover is a move from one point to another and not going back. It is a transition - physically, spiritually, emotionally and psychologically. A movement from one experience to another.

I pray that as you move from 2020 to 2021, may God through Jesus Christ bring a positive shift into your life. May God put into your hands all that you hope in the year to come.

Israel had gone under slavery for 430 years in Egypt. Moses went in at the command of God to bring them out to the promised land. This took them another 40 years in the wilderness. The promise became possess when they cross over the Jordan River.

In a few minutes, we will be crossing over to 2021 just as Israel did. We are moving away from slavery into salvation, from wandering into wonders, from uncertainty of rejection into eternity of love, from ill-health to good health, from wretchedness to riches, from bachelor to marriage, from barren to birth. This is a year of fruitfulness, influence, fulfillment and empowerment. May God Almighty who has covered us through the high tides of COVID-19 and Presidential and Parliamentary Elections, be with us into the new year.

Joyous New Year to you as we Triumphantly step into 2021 in Jesus' name, Amen.
